Class Gift
Our gift is very important in determining those college rankings that we all watch so carefully. Did you know that part of the rankings is determined by the percentage of alumnae who give back to the school? Interestingly enough, it is not the large dollar amount that is so important to the college ranking formula (although of course we like large donations too), but it is the percentage of donors that is critical to those doing the rankings. Hence, from a college rankings perspective, Smith would fare better if 100% of the class each gave $1 than if one class member gave a $1,000,000. So, let's all do our part in getting that ranking higher.
